Today we got our first glimpse at the evolution of leather boots – the Nike Mercurial Superfly K-Leather. The boots were revealed today, intentionally or not, by Arsenal and Chile striker Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez returned to training today after an extended rest period after the Copa America and trained in the unreleased Nike boots for the first time.
The Mercurial Superfly K-Leather boots are the first leather boots to feature the dynamic fit collar, and will be followed by leather versions of the Magista Obra and Hypervenom II. Set to be launched soon, the Mercurial Superfly Leather boots will come in a launch colourway of Hyper Pink and Black, a variation on the current Lightning Pack Mercurial Superfly.
Featuring the same ground breaking features as the normal Superfly, the new version features a layer of luxury Kangaroo Leather on the upper for players who prefer a more traditional feel.
It will be interesting to see how the leather upper affects performance, and how many players will switch to the leather versions of Nike’s latest boots.
